If there is nothing new under the sun,

Why does my phone still update?

Surely there’s a meaning

To these notes that take alert space

It’s cliché to say my story might be different

But improving on the model

Means a chance I get to upgrade

Hope is more than a feeling, it’s a necessity

For weary hearts that slump in winter’s decay

And lose hope in the fading of the day

Remember that amidst the spring, death’s haunt is held to still,

And from barren soil emerge both rose and daffodil.
